These are just a small sampling of the fruits of our labor. Enjoy a small look at the Garden at Garrison Farms.

Garrison Farms: The Garden that Made Us
With the first year in our new home under our belts, I realized that I needed a new focus. My husband says it's just one more project that I can't put down. Either way, gardening was my summer job when I was a youth. My dad spent hundreds of hours pouring over his garden each year. I was his sidekick. Now, he's in the garden with me and my kids are our sidekicks.

Adventures in the New Year 2012 Style
With a new year beginning, it's time I began an adventure I have thought about for some time now. Blogging! Throughout this year I hope to share with you special moments to preserve for years to come.
This blog is dedicated to my sweet boys, Collin and Brody. They are full of energy, enthusiasm and seriousness. They play hard, love hard, and fight (one another) hard sometimes too. I want them to know that their dad and I love them and are so proud to have them in our lives.
Here you will find pictures, captions, stories, quotes and some of our favorite things (to eat and do).
Thank you for joining us on our Great Adventure of 2012~

Oh, boy! Motorcycle Mania!
For Christmas, my parents bought Collin and Brody each a mini-bike. As frightened as I was, the boys were equally excited. Collin decided to ride his mini-bike for the first time on New Year's Eve. Brody decided to ride his bike along side Collin. I hate to admit Collin is pretty good, when he doesn't frighten himself. : )
Coat Rack to the Rescue!
The boys are forever losing their backpacks and jackets...so SuperMom, along with guidance from pa and surprise help from dad, to the rescue! This summer I had the idea to make signs out of old cabinet doors. Whew, am I glad that thought didn't pan out!
Instead I went to hobby lobby and looked for some decorative door pulls or cast iron hangers to put on the doors for a coat rack. To my surprise I found these letters at the last minute! They cost a bit more, but are totally personal for the boys!
First I, along with Pa who can't help but use sandpaper, sanded down the finish on the | cabinet faces. |
Two coats of black primer were added to the front and back of each door, followed by three coats of flat black spray paint. |

I do love how the flat black gives a high end look. It looks expensive, and totally fits our decorative style. |
Collin's door was super smooth, so the finish is as well. |
